Being Strong.

Okay, let me start off by saying that today, I am blogging about a topic that almost has nothing to with the theme of my blog.
Although it almost has nothing to do with my theme, it has everything to do with every single person who's eyes skim them.

Today, I am blogging about Core Values.

I feel so silly wording it that way. Can I just say, It took me longer to think of a way to word what i'm blogging about, then it will probably to write this whole thing.

I suppose I should go into what exactly Core Values are.

Wisdom.
The kind of wisdom I refer to here, is not one that can simply be acquired by studying books. It is only with Age, Trial, and Error, only by learning throughout your life, can you gain the wisdom I speak of. When you learn your lessons in life, you are gaining Wisdom. When you notice a lesson as it passes you or others by, you are becoming Wise.

Justice.
The passion to make things right, and do the right thing.

Courage.
To do the things that may not be easy, but are what need to be done. To accomplish your goals in life, you need Courage.

Compassion.
For others as well as yourself.

Hope.
For your future, for the best. Hope for everything having a reason. Hope, but never give up.

Respect.
Treat others with as much Respect as you wish to be treated. And, treat yourself with equal respect.

Responsibility.
Take this for your own actions, Especially the outcomes. Do not lay this over anybody else.

and, Integrity.
Moral Uprightness, you could also say. The courage to stand up for yourself. Being honest, and having expectations for yourself.

These values were drilled into my head at the Charter school that I attended. They were macarena'd, we had MILLIONS of songs and rhymes to help us realize why they mattered.

Poems, signs on the walls, Everything you can imagine.

We had a program, specifically designed to express core values. When a teacher found it appropriate, They would give out 'good citizen gold' for displayed core values, which could buy free homework passes, snaks, toys, pencils, double recess....

I was young, and it was cheesy. But, you have to admit, effective.
It's now been... 16 years since the singing, macarena's, gold?

And, not only do I remember this to a near T, but it is what popped into my head to describe what I wanted to talk about.

WHAT A LONG INTRO!!

In fact, I almost don't even need to say a thing more.

I had no idea how I wanted to write this, But I just did it. These core values, they lead to a happy lifestyle. How can you expect anyone to respect you, if you don't respect them back? How can you expect to get anything in life, without a little  Courage, to get past the hard spots? Hope, that it is going to take you where you want to be. Compassion, when you see someone in a situation you can understand, to help them in a way you wanted help in. How can you expect your life to be Just, if you cannot display any integrity? How can you expect to gain any Wisdom, if you cannot muster up the courage to learn any of life's lessons?

Change is a good thing, and in order for it to be positive, you need to KNOW that everything in life will not come easily. The best things in life take a while to see, but the work is worth it.

Delayed Gratification.

Do you see where i'm getting with this? People, you need to KNOW you are worth it. You need to KNOW you deserve respect, and you need to be a just person to others to truly know this for yourself.
